A friend that's going through some hard times right now came and stayed with me for the last week and he brought along some Wensleydale with Cranberries. What a treat!

I'd never had it before but you can bet I'll be going on a scavenger hunt next time I'm in town.

We sat on my deck eating that stuff on crackers with Jud's Venison Summer Sausage and drinking dark beers until we both blew up like Ticks.

I'm sure you'll all tell me how you've been eating it for years but it's new to me so I'm setting here eating some he left as we speak trying to make up for lost time.

Good day in Charlie land!

Gourmet Foods .com or something like that can ship it to you.
Good man.
Yea......I saw several places on line that sell it Jim....hell....Amazon even has it.
In the James Herriot books he sang the praises of a piece of white cake, a wedge of Wensleydale cheese, and a glass of whiskey.

Not too sure about wasting time on white cake...
wink
When I hear Wensleydale I immediately think of the Cheese Shoppe Monty Python skit.

Never had any but I cannot think of a cheese I have had that I didn’t like so I bet it’s good.
I am not a big fan myself.

Everyone else likes it.

I like saying "Wensleydale" much better than I like eating it.

Fancy cheese names are fun to say.
Never had that one Charlie !!

The food world is full of surprises, if one is adventurous enough to try new things.

Bit like sex !
Have had & enjoyed this one, it a sheep milk cheese, so quite creamy & somewhat strong flavoured.

They also make a garlic herb one that is killa in mashed taters or for a creamy pasta sauce !

That looks pretty similar Paul.......Cranberries.....Pepper.....and Sheep's Milk although the article I posted says Wensleydale is mostly Cows milk with some Sheep's milk thrown in at the end these days.

Would love to try some of the original stuff.

I am a cheese lover and will be running this one down! Looks and sounds amazing. Any sheep cheese I have had in the past has been great. Agree with you Charlie, would love to try the original authentic version!
Picked up some Wensleydale cheese yesterday, locally.

My Wife and I ate the whole thing!

BEST snacking cheese ever!

Thanks for sharing!
