I admit that I love marzipan for the holidays more than I love the holidays. Thats what I look forward to. Can't stop. I have a problem with the stuff once a year. Wife will hide the box and ration it out. You guys like it? Where do you get it? Here in cenTex we get a box every year at Central Market. Good stuff. German if I'm not mistaken.

So, if's hard to spell, and even harder to pronounce, it's good? laugh

Go ahead, I'm just ornery tonight.

Thats the weird cake frosting?

Almond paste fruit shaped things.

I have only ever had it as frosting on wedding cakes.

Dont care for it in that guise. I should try it in a different form.

Best part of a Scandinavian funeral is the marzipan cake.

Danish friends make incredible chocolates every year about this time with marzipan in many iterations. rum-soaked-raisins in a wad of marzipan sealed in chocolate does not suck! wink

kinda sorta. There is almond paste, and then there is marzipan. To make Marzipan you start with almond paste and mix that in with powdered sugar and stiff beaten egg white.
