Caveman style- gnawed straight off the core! grin

When I hear apple salad, I usually think of a Waldorf salad. Haven't made one in a while. Apples, celery, walnuts, mayo, a bit of dijon mustard (optional), sherry vinegar, salt and pepper. Traditional recipe also calls for grapes. I can take them or leave them. Usually leave them...

I like to eat apples right off the core too. Don't like any kind of apple salad, and the only way I care for cooked apples is in a pie.

My mother makes a sort of salad.

Cut up apples and grapes in kind of a heavy whipped sweet cream.

Its good.

I've had one with small cubed apples and celery in strawberry jello. You can eat it but it's not habit forming.
