I’m thinking about getting a 6 quart pro line kitchen aid mixer for making bread dough....

Anyone done it that can tell me if it was worth getting one ?

I have a grinder so I don’t need one for that attachment or it’s extras.
My mom has a 4.5 quart one that she uses primarily with the dough hook. She seems to like it. One of my friends from work burned his out grinding an elk. Kitchenaid replaced it under warranty but he quit using it.
They are top of the line. My wife is a master bread baker, she does it all by hand. That is all I know. The best with it.
We use it twice a year to make the dough for coffee cake, works great
We use the dough hook for pizza dough. I make bread in the bread machine.

Sourdough.

If the power of the machine is in doubt then go bigger. My search indicates under 600 watts so plenty of room left on a modern kitchen circuit.
That is a great point... a Breadmachine might be better ?

Either way, I made some bread by hand... GOOD LORD that was not any fun what so ever...

Not sure... which is why i asked.... it seems like bread people don’t use mixers ?
Dunno spot. I can’t be bothered to make proper bread and knead by hand, wait for a rise, and watch the oven.

I dump ingredients and like magic, I get a fresh loaf.
I make a lot of bread without a mixer or bread machine. Put the ingredients in a bowl, wait 12 hours, and bake.lots of variety and it is very well-designed. Year's ago someone posted a video of the way I do it and had been doing it. Very simple.
Founds tons of YouTube videos... "no knead Dutch oven bread" will give you more than you want...
I have been making all my bread dough with my KitchenAid for over 40 years. Bulletproof

I’m going to take the plunge and get one... the Kitchen Aid will outlast any breadmaker.... and you can make bread doughs that are really sticky that you can’t buy hand.

I have had a couple 3 breadmakers, the side life (not vertical) once’s cost as much as the Kitchen Aid but don’t last anywhere near as long.. and you only get one freakin loaf of bread too....

Costco has the 6 quart pro grade kitchen aid on sale for $250 !!
