From last night:

There are alligators in northeastern North Carolina all the way up to the Virginia border. But they're shy and reclusive and spotting them can be a challenge. Here's the only one I was able to find last night. Not huge, but any sighting is a victory

But mud, fire ants and cottonmouths are worth it for those moments of Zen that keep me coming back.

Good job on the gators. Never had an opportunity to stalk them.
