Back in the early 1980s when I was living in South Texas, I motored across Falcon Lake along the Texas-Mexico border to the submerged, old town of Zapata in a 14' aluminum and 10 HP Johnson. I do not know if I'd make that trip today. I took a few black and white images, but have since lost the negatives. Here are edits of poor scans of the only two prints I have.

You’d probably get your ass shot off by Cartel mules nowadays.

The important question is did you catch any Bass ?

Certainly could not outrun them in that speedboat. I did catch a 4 pounder on the US side using a spinner bait.

I remember one of the big outdoor magazines running an article showing guys fishing inside the old church as the lake was filling up. Nice shady place for bass to hang out!
