Good shot! Those guys don't often stand around and pose.

I was surprised I was able to catch a couple of shot of him in the open. Long lens helped, as I was probably 75 yards away

The RF 800 is really fun. Kind of a learning curve with 800mm prime and the fixed f11 but once you start to get the hang of it, you can catch some pretty cool images

The Pied Currawong has an awfully impressive beak. It likes eating lizards, big insects and of course, it's favorite, baby birds.

I'd speculate most of your birds would have me guessing, and I'd likely be wrong.

Here's two from today. Male & female Satin Bowerbird. They're usually very timid but my persistence finally paid off.

Some nice bucks there.
Posted By: dingo Re: Starting off 2022 - 05/30/22
Scored a good one today, although an ISO of 12800 wasn't ideal - that's what I needed on a dull overcast winters day if I wanted high shutter speed and some depth.

Pale headed rosella. This was a difficult bird to photograph.

I suppose I'm lucky to be able to photograph nice looking birds in my backyard. Took this Galah pic a few days ago.

Nice pictures !!

You guys should list What type of camera and lens - and how many megapixel they areโ€ฆ

Iโ€™m planning on getting a R5 later this year.
Posted By: duckster Re: Starting off 2022 - 07/28/22
I have a R6. Would love to try the R5 at some point but it was just too much $$ to buy and I don't need 45MP for my style of photography

Male King Parrot. A common bird in my area.

Thanks mate. The Scaly Breasted Lorikeet is a rare visitor to my backyard but I managed to get a few pics of this one before the much larger & aggressive Rainbow Lorikeets chased him away.
