By the time she is old enough to be able to really handle that Canon you will more than likely have a new one. Give this old one to her and tell her to shoot, shoot and shoot some more. It is absolutely amazing the photos you will see form a child's perspective. This is a web page from the school that my photographer's guild sponsored. These kids are 11-13.
