Can you imagine if that thing were the size of a VW? Very cool.

no but everyone would be wanting to know where he got his paint job. The man upstairs made some really odd/cool creatures! Thanks.
He will never be able to sneak up on a deer with all them blue spiny things held on with electric tape. grin miles
Cool. But how did he taste?

That is one funky lookin critterpillar.
Nice colorful image. Wonder what comes out of their cocoon? Those spiky knobs look like something one might see on South San Francisco Street here in Flagstaff on a Friday night.
Very cool macro shot! I like the colors and spikes. Radical looking bug!

I don't know, hopefully, I can show you if I'm lucky catching him coming out. I went back the next day and found this:

He/she is still in this condition right now. I have my kids watching it. Hopefully, we'll be lucky enough to see the result of the transformation.

Caterpillars come in all shapes, colors, and sizes.
My middle girl found this one in our yard a couple years ago.............

Cool bug and picture BTW!
A neat and well armed critter there. Thanks and do let us know what the tranfomation generates.
Thats a very cool pic!
I could be wrong, but I bet if you brushed bare skin against those spines you would soon regret it.

I brushed against a plain il brown one in the garden one day and started to get pretty severe reactions very quickly. Severe enough I was thinking about how far and time needed to get to a hospital and over the next 30 minutes or so the symptoms lessened.

Brightly colored and with those spines I am thinking "LOOK OUT/DANGER"
