That is a nice picture.

Our snow where I live in Montana gets that way also caused by the wind, but the wind is a Chinook wind and very warm. Actually looks like a light ice or water layer on it.

Your pic still looks like the snow is soft.

There is a very thin crust. It's the type of surface that is a setup for avalanches in the proper terrain.

I noticed I should have cropped the dog turds out of the bottom of the pic!

I was going to mention the dog turds, but I didn't want to accidentally identify them.

Maybe that would be appealing and artistic to musher. Yes. One might move a couple steps to the right and reshoot it. Maybe easier to Photoshop it out though.

Cookie takes hundreds of frames of snow geese in the air each spring. It takes about 10 minutes to erase all the goose poop in the sky.

That snow shine would have been shaded by moving right.
