Come on man, first attempt? Excellent. Share a few details.
Good job. My most frequent issue is one usually has too much lens. Can't fit in the full image. One might post in their exposure times etc.
Well, first off, I am one of those that relies heavily on "auto" ..LOL

After a google search on camera settings for fireworks I headed down to the local show and hoped for the best...

Nikon D5100 with a kit 28-80 lens on a tripod..Focus on manual and set to infinity

Shutter was 4 seconds,F10 and 400..When I heard them fire off I pressed the shutter and let it happen..

I was actually quite shocked on how well they turned out..

Its amazing what you can do with a good camera...I kinda like this pic also..Recent scouting trip and the sun wasn't even up yet...Still fairly dark and normally this pic would have sucked..

The digitals, with a little post processing, can do a fine job with low light shots. A little grainy, but most folks will give that deer image some wow factor. Should be a serious dandy in another 6 weeks or so. Keep them coming.
Those are great!
