Earlier in April, I had the opportunity to travel to some remote spots in northern Arizona with some photographer friends. The white lines of the Moenave sandstone made for nice patterns in the eroded formations. We then descended into the bowels of the earth.

Nice! Always wished we could pack a geologist along on our various travels. Would be interesting to know how all of these wonders came to exist. Fascinating country there. Here, we just have endless layers of basalt.

1' -that moenave is fairly soft, so the arid climate is a blessing for longevity
