I'm looking to buy a small point and shoot camera without breaking the bank.

Near shirt pocket size as it will be carried while hunting/fishing etc.

Under $500 please.
Sony RX100. There are seven different iterations or upgrades of this camera and I have a IV version. She's a sharp little bugger. Takes wonderful pics. Pick a version that suits your budget and have fun. Ebay has a bunch of each version. Think I paid $700 for my IV version.

That's my suggestion, and what I own too.

The 1st Gen RX100 is well within your budget. I love mine.

This is about the best deal out there:

You might look at the Canon GX5 or GX7 as well
+1 on the Sony RX100. Mine is a version 6, love it, great deal from Cameraland (Joel).
I like the canon sx720hs for the zoom.....
After trying others I settled on the Nikon COOLPIX. Takes great shots, simple, compact, and I've got the orange color so when you set it down you remember where you put it.
The Sony RX100 Mark 3 is an amazing camera and the best in its class. Normally $749.99, now less $150 Instant rebate= 599.99. Our price to members here $519.99

Give me a call if we can help out
