Don’t know what model this is but it shoots real well with 120 Barnes

Its that way everywhere. Good luck with your new savage. I really like them. They always shoot very well. Don't really need anything out of the box. I will do some tricks to the bedding that only takes about 15 minutes to make them even better/more consistent shooters, but that's just me. Speaking of predator rifles, I just sold one of the originals to one of my buddies. He's been hounding me about selling this rifle to him for a while now. He also bought my original 22-250 predator last year. He sold his new generation Predator 223 to put that money towards the old predator 223. The original was the best Predator to date, and highly collectible:

There are some things about the older one that Savage diehards prefer over the new ones. Full camo, better bolt release system and a smoother action. Not that the new ones aren't nice, just not as nice. When the predator rifle came out, they were actually one of Savage's highest priced rifles of that time period, but they quickly developed a following. My boss actually just bought a Predator chambered in 6.5 creedmoor. I like the way it looks and am sure it is a shooter.

Those were nice rifles I remember them well my buddy had a 22-250 in it, the one I bought is a 6.5 cm , I had a .433 and a .543 if I remember right today first time shooting I was using Rl19 the .433 was Hornady 123 Eld and the later was 130 Sierra game changer, very pleased, the rl19 didn’t handle the 140’s very well 2 together one out, but in happy so far for sure.

Sounds great. The 2 together one out may be your OAL. Maybe shorten a little bit and see if it brings that 1 back into the group. Your group size sounds great. I like the Savage rifles, sounds like you have a good one..

Not bad if you get one that isn't a copper fouling bitch.

Ugly as sin though. Sort of like a two bagger that's a good cook. grin

I found a B&C stock (new) and a 6mm Norma BR bbl stainless (new) and 3 boxes of Lapua ammo.
Now I need to find a short Savage action LOL
Thinking stainless.
No used rigs to build from at LGS.
Never had a 10/110 series before.

Best part about a savage is you can mine the copper out of the barrel and cash it in $$$ 😃
Posted By: ERK Re: Just bought a savage - 03/21/21
Yea but not till you beat all the other factory rifles for the cash. Edk
Posted By: dogcatcher223 Re: Just bought a savage - 03/21/21
I've shot several factory Savage barrels. Shot great until the copper started... I still like savage rifles, but you're lying to yourself if you think they make a smooth barrel.

My bosses dad just bought one a few months ago. I think I posted that earlier. But heres an update: The only powder they could find locally was Hunter. My boss loaded some up the other day and he's getting 1/2" 5 shot groups with that rifle. It seems to be a very nice rifle. Its funny, he's getting to the age where you know he doesn't like the pain of shooting his 300wm anymore. The 6.5cm allows him to start shooting more, which is a good thing.

I put 1,200 rounds downrange with my 12FV and it was just fine. Didn't copper foul much at all. Easy to clean. I later sold that rifle to a coworker. I was messing around and shot these groups with it with different scopes:

This is how it shot when I sold the rifle with SWFA SS to him for $500.00. It puts much higher dollar rifles to shame.. The funny thing, some guys say the life expectancy of the 6.5 cm barrel is 1,500 rounds too. Got to laugh at some of the stupid chidt you hear sometimes..

I know mathman has a hard on for savage and loves to bad mouth the rough barrels, but they do shoot well. Guys that don't compete much don't know that.. Even simpler yet: If you've ever had your azz handed to you by a redneck shooting a stevens 200 223 rem, you'll understand where I'm coming from. I'm sure the op's rifle will be just fine. I also look forward to hearing more on his range report with his new predator. One thing I've learned is don't bet against a Savage.. Of any kind..

I like my Savage .308 model 11 shoots good, used mostly for hunting, but shoot it at range also.

Wife likes her Savage 6.5 CM Axis, she uses it mostly hunting and range.

the savage LWH rifles are strangely appealing. mine shoot well

I have a 110 High Country in 6.5 CM. It has the spiral fluted barrel and bolt. Extremely accurate with a 130 Game Change and H4350. Sub inch groups at 200yds is not a problem with this rifle.

I have one of the Savage 110 Ultralites, in 6.5 PRC. For the copper whiners, this rifle has a 24", Proof Research barrel, a carbon-fiber wrapped stainless tube of very high quality. All-up, with 3.5-10x Leupold, weight is a bit less than 7.5 lb., and accuracy with three different bullet brands and weights is sub-.5".
If you are willing to settle for less-accurate firearms than Savages, your choices are endless.
