I've read Schticks Report of one lot of it he had.

So, anybody else tried it that maybe have used the known premiums like Lapua & Alpha?

Opinions?

Duly noted & edited.

Not trolling here. Brass for some still hard to get & i'm not too bad at finding stuff if it's out there. . New Krieger on a 700 due in a couple weeks & all I've been able to score is some Starline.

I just bought 50 Petersen cases in 6.5x47. I like how it came in a plastic ammo box. No idea of the quality but I did notice none of the case mouths were dented. Time will tell I guess.

I bought Peterson brass for my 280AI and am very pleased with that brass! I weighed the brass and it was the most uniform in weight of any I’ve weighed.
Weather and back surgery has kept me from running tests at the range. I’d buy that brass again.

Yes, he's an miserable azzhat living life but who cares. He spent money for a product that should've been undeliverable and been thrown in the bin. These companies want our money and charge a good plenty for their product these days so they need to grow some skin and take care of the customers. Good for Stick letting them know their brass is substandard in his own way. He did them a service. And at the end he always puts a hint: whatever that means.

The Peterson brass has been great for me. I am glad I did not get the first run.
I did get a first run of Alpha brass, and I was disappointed.
I have recent run of a different cartridge...22GT and I am very pleased.

I use Peterson brass for my 375 Chey-Tac and for the 6 Creed.
I typically use Lapua, ADG, Peterson, and Alpha.
Lapua has been my number 1 choice for years, but I like and use the others as well.

The emailed conversation always cracks me up. Gotta love it for what it is.

I was in a situation where I had a rile built and needed brass. The only place I could find it was Peterson. I was hesitant to order it as I'd seen the aforementioned. After looking a while longer I gave in and ordered it. Of course I was anxious to take a look when it arrived. It was good....I ordered more, and it was good. Perhaps Peterson took the "hint".

Seriously doubt an insulting email, from a profane drunk who has issues
stringing words together, changed a companies policy and culture.

Either they slipped through. (Not good)
Or, someone really wanted to ship. (Understandable, still not good)

Hint......no other forum member on any other forum has ever mentioned named lot of brass or for that matter, any other said problems even remotely similar.

Bigger hint- many other forums say Alpha Creed brass is equivalent to serving spam instead of prime rib.

I must have been lucky. There’s no visual imperfections in the Peterson brass I bought. The weights of the cases varied equal to the best brass I’ve measured - equal to Nosler brass.

All, well most points indicate Peterson has ironed out their growing pains & make acceptable brass at this time.
Thanks guys for the input on the recently made Peterson. I may still try some at a later date.

But, I'll brag & say I just scored a few boxes of Alpha. Have really wanting to try it & holding out & looking for a good while just paid off.

I believe Big Stick's message got Petersen's attention. They even admitted to having CC issues. I've always been to harsh but I don't believe in cussing someone unless it's face to face. No one needs any BS and to waste of time dealing with junk is BS.

I have all the concentricity and consistency I need from Lapua and Nosler.

My hope from Peterson is a harder brass that will take higher pressure before giving up the primer pocket.

Maybe punching flash holes is harder with harder Peterson brass.

I hear Lapua drills their flash holes. That could solve Larry's problem.

Then don't waste your money on Peterson brass , primer pockets won't hold up half as long as lapua but it will outlast nosler
It also pressures out a lot earlier then other brass including Hornady

That batch of Peterson brass must have been picked out of the garbage can
Posted By: jeffbird Re: Petersen Brass - 05/22/22
I use a fair amount of Lapua for a reference comparison. Last year, I was looking for .300 Win Mag brass and found some Peterson in stock, so gave it a try.

Consistency is at least equal to Lapua.

Bottom line, it is excellent quality.

One nice point on .300 Win Mag in particular is they offer a “long” version of .300 Win Mag, which is 0.010” longer to the datum line. So, the “long” brass tends to fit .300 WM chambers tighter than other .300 Win Mag brass, close to starting off with fire formed brass.

They also deburr the inside of the flash hole, which is a nice touch and saves a step in brass prep.

I’ll buy more in the future.

Here are photos of new unfired brass.

I use Peterson brass and never had issues with it

I fireform 300 NM & 338 NM brass into 6 of my wildcats, 6.5mm, 7mm, .308, .338, 375 & .408 cal

7mm Rem Mag into 338 Win Mag
300 Wby into 340 Wby Mag

Also use 300 Win Mag in several rifles and made a bunch of .350 Rem Mag brass out of it

Good stuff, more info here on my initial inspection 2 years ago

..Peterson brass

Interesting. Do they offer that in a lot of cartridges, or just belted magnums?

Plunked down $60 for 50 ct. 260 Rem cases. Just didn't feel like spending $125 for 100 Lapuas
We shall see . . .
Posted By: dennisinaz Re: Petersen Brass - 05/29/22
NOT all brass starts out great. Several on this thread have mentioned Nosler brass. I've had a mixed-bag of luck with them. I had a rifle "blueprinted" by Greg Tannel. He chambered it in 260 Remington, same as original caliber rifle was from Remington. I had a struggle with brass not fitting. I called him and explained. He said , "Let me guess, Nosler brass" . I threw that stuff away, went to Brunos and bought some just released Lapua 260 brass. Problem solved. I don't use much Nosler brass these days unless I can't get what I need elsewhere.
I'm not even sure Nosler makes brass.

Follow up report. Got my 50 cases. They come in a nice plastic case with padding so they don't rattle around. Visually, they look like Lapua cases in regards to the annealing. They are headstamped .260 Rem Match. Even Lapua is not that proud of their stuff.

Did a quick weight check against what I had on hand:

Peterson wt. = 174.4 gr
Lapua = 174.5
Winch (7-08) = 155.3 (delta of ~12%)

Didn't have any off-center primer hole or butchered primer pockets. I reckon the customer "feedback" from Stick tuned them up smirk
