Getting ready to give some a try in my .257 Weatherby.
I’ll get on it asap. Been wanting to try them
Nosler should take notes.

Seems Hammer is small enough to be sensitive to customer concerns. Their CS is top notch.

I got an email from an owner after sending them a picture of the innards of a dead critter. Doubt that would happen with one of the big boys.

I’m a Hammer fan. It’s easy to be one.

That's for sure.
I sent this photo of a WT exit chest wound, shot with my .358 Win Pre-64 FTW (JES re-bore). I got a return email from Steve Davis, letting me know about the symmetrical frag holes surrounding the core exit hole from the 178 gr. Shock Hammer. I had missed it. He knew what he was looking at.

The Shock Hammer reportedly has 80% weight retention, evidently not as frangible as some of their other bullets. Google "Types of Hammer Bullets" for an explanation of each series design specs. The Hunter Hammer has 60-70% retention, the Dead Blow, around 40-50%.

I shoot the 222 grain Hammer Hunter bullet out of my 1885 Highwall in 35 Whelen for 2911 FPS. Very accurate and kills deer 🦌 in their tracks. Does a lot of damage
They are really good about giving veterans a generous discount as well.

They also have a guarantee. They will buy them back if you are disapointed, I think.
The only problem with Hammer bullets is that they have such an extensive selection, in virtually every caliber, that you can't decide what to order. Good bullet smiths and great marketers!

You can return bullets or swap for a different bullet if you experience problems. The thing to remember is that you must know/consider your barrel's twist rate before you start ordering away. LOL

For sure,

But a "high level" problem... grin

Not many makers can give their customer several bullet frangibility options within a given caliber.
