Seems plenty of 300s available on GB but few 7s...

People keep their 7RUMS.

I have a Sendero in 7mm ultra, like it a lot! It’s the rifle in the middle, 26 Nosler on top, 300 win mag on bottom.

Back 10-12 years ago a guy on long range hunting website built a 7rum with a 34'' Pacnor barrel on it.
Folks commented they didn't know barrels that long were available. A member chimed in and showed a picture of a 40'' Pacnor barrel , I forget the details of that build.

The 34'' barrel 7rum was a mean machine, it zing'd heavy for caliber bullets real fast.
It blew 7mm mag, 26'' barrel ballistics away.

I usually just blow off the RUM rounds as being far too inefficient for the powder, components, and recoil investment. However, with a very long barrel and a bucket full of slow burning powder it may be worthwhile to try. Especially with all the new high BC bullets available to go with the properly twisted, high quality barrels you can get these days...

Yes it would be fun, but heavy.
8lbs. Hodgdon 869 and slower powders maybe BMG stuff, 190gr.+ bullets, 8tw.

One of my favs. Been shooting powder mizers since the component crunch but planning on stretching it out soon.

I’ve got one of the original 700 AWR with the McMillan Kevlar Stocks and love it. The barrel is about gone and it will get a new barrel this year. I’m going to go to a standard 7mm RM this time but it was a good ride.

I need to load some, but a pound of powder don’t go too far.

I've had some Rums that shot well but I much prefer the shorter case of the 28 nosler.

I've had a 7 rum 700 LSS since they first appeared on market. Have run a couple different loads over the years. I'm gonna get it out of the safe this year and see what it'll do with 160 accubond and ramshot LRT.

One of the best hunting rifles ever made. Always said I'd buy one and never got around to it.
The first custom rifle I had made was a 7RUM-- didn't really know what I was doing but it ran everything from 145s to 180s. I stuck with the 145gr LRX @ 3300+ and it was an absolute laser beam-- haven't owned another rifle since that seemed to hit as hard.

A Sendero in 7RUM (or maybe STW) would be a dream.

I have a 7mm rum but other than about 50 prairie dogs haven't shot anything with it
I think I'm in love. My two 7mm RUM's shot extremely good at long range for about 450 rounds.
