I FINALLY PICKED ELVIRA UP. I am not much of a LR hunter but love to shoot at LR. Anyway I figured you guys might like her.

Specifics:
Manners T2 Stock
Lawton 8500 action fluted bolt
Timney trigger
Lawton Barrel 30" SS fluted 11.5:1 LRB twist For brass solids and others
Lawton Muzzle brake
375 Cheytac Improved AKA......... 375 Snipetac.
NightForce rings
Nightforce 5.5-22x50mm Zero Stop scope.
Lawton 40 MOA base. good for 2500-3000 yards.
Cryogenized (all metal)

As is 13.75 LBS

For those who do not know what that is, well lets put it this way.
It is based on the 505 Gibbs case.
260 Accubonds 3600 fps (not max, think of it as a 22-250 for elk-- If one is so inclined)
300 Accubonds 3400 fps
350 Sierra Matchking or
370 Rocky Mountain Hunting bullets 3250fps easy!

Thant won't do, necks to short.

smile

Do you not just love it?

You show your new stick and someone splits a hair.

Seriously, while not much of a long ranger myself, I see a serious piece of equipment there.

Good for you! I think mine will be done next month. I hope so...

POP aka fotis,
only two small problems, you are using a brake not a break, and a POS Timney. switch to a great trigger and you will have a GREAT LR rifle.

Very nice stk. I want one . how does it shoot at 1000 plus? Keep us posted always have been interested in shooting LR. I think the hunters that get into KR are better as they shoot more and know their capabilities.
Posted By: SU35 Re: My new LR stick is here. - 03/23/10
Not just impressive, just about Incredible.

I like it....!
Posted By: Clay Re: My new LR stick is here. - 03/23/10
Holy Sheep Chit Bat Man! That's a long range killin' machine for sure.

Congrats on a Very Nice rig.
Posted By: 300MAG Re: My new LR stick is here. - 03/23/10
Who built that bad boy??
Posted By: Fotis Re: My new LR stick is here. - 03/23/10
Lawton built it, they also build the Cheytac barrels.

I will be shooting her soon. I am waiting on the dies. Should be here this week and I will be starting to fireform the cases.
I did not know there are issues with the timney triggers. Huh! confused

BTW I fixed the grammatical errors! grin

What is an RM hunting bullet? Heck of a BC...
Lawton builds some awesome rifles, I have a 338 edge built on a lawton action,Lone wolf stock,30 inch barrel with lawton brake, jewel trigger set at 8 oz, shoots ragged 1 hole groups at 200 , 1 1/2 at 600 yrds. They know their stuff for sure.Very nice rifle you have there!

WOW, nice hammer!
Posted By: Seafire Re: My new LR stick is here. - 03/24/10
Holy Moly is all I can say!

WOW!

Like to think as that being the rig that took out Osama's genitals at 1000 yds..
Holy hell, that is SICK! (in the GOOD way)

370gr, .942BC, 3250 fps......Wow!
Posted By: JPro Re: My new LR stick is here. - 03/24/10
No joke!

At 5000' elevation, it carries 2000fps beyond 1500yds, per JBM. A practical 300yd hunting zero results in 14MOA to make 1000yds, where it still making 2400+fps with only 2.5MOA of drift in a 10mph wind. Time of flight to that range is under 1.1 seconds.
How's the muzzle blast on one of those SOB'S ? Sounds like fun!
Posted By: Fotis Re: My new LR stick is here. - 03/24/10
Have no clue yet. I just got the dies last night. I promise a range report fellas.
All I wanna know is can my No 1H be rechambered to that cartridge. Wow! Probably have to replace the red recoil pad, huh?

I think your rifle is superb. You guys are making me want to put together a 30-in. or longer bangstick.
Posted By: Fotis Re: My new LR stick is here. - 03/24/10
Yes it can be chambered in a #1.
Posted By: Brett_Mc Re: My new LR stick is here. - 03/25/10
how about a pic of a standard length case beside that monster for comparison? I don't think I can truely grasp the size in the pictures.lol.

That is an absolute hornbag Pop. Boy I would love to see that thing fired and then see what it can do in the field.

This is one update I am really looking forward to seeing.

Love it.
WOW!!! Congratulations on one sick stick!! Yea, 300gr AB's @ 3,400fps - .22-250 for elk sounds about right. What a powder hog - you're sooo gonna love range days!

I hope she's not gonna be just a range queen - sooo much potential there!

Snipe tac guys really dont shooot this at 1,000 yards. My will be together soon and I really built it for 1,500 yards and beyond. It's like driving a new corvett at 30 mph, it will go that, but whats the purpose?

If you're interested in one, I may be selling it as soon as it's assembeled, I started the new 375 VM (snipe tacs big brother). I kind of jumped the gun on the snipe tac. Its a great cal, but the VM is the grand daddy of them all.

The 375 Viersco Mag?
That is freakin' badazz in every regard. It needs a flamejob, wheelie bar, and a parachute to slow it down on reentry. You'll need a crash helmet and firesuit to drive a hotrod like that!
Posted By: Waders Re: My new LR stick is here. - 07/05/10
I've no experience with high-end equipment, but I do know the joy of getting exactly what you want and having be exactly right. So I am very happy for you, because it's obvious that you are very pleased with your build! Plus, people here whose opinions I respect (i.e. Shane, Tom264, and David Walter) are impressed with it--so it must be awesome!

Anyway, congratulations! I hope you enjoy it for a long while!

Take care!

Wow. . . . . . . . . that is WICKED cool.

162 grains of RETUMBO or 50BMG with each pull of the trigger.

Man-o-man . . . . .

I await the "Wet-phonebook-penetration test." . . . grin
