I started a post here about a month ago "Long Range Sheep Shot" that was about helping a friend get his Rocky Mountain Bighorn sheep using my rifle to take him at 1285 yards, that was on the opening day of the hunt.
I waited until almost the end of the season to take my Ram, I wanted to see as many as I could before taking one. I have been scouting this unit since early June and have seen at least 50 different Rams.
When I decided this was the Ram I wanted I could have shot him at 150 yards but I wanted my son to be there for the shot, my son was late because he had to ride his mountain bike in Moab on the way up to camp. By the time he arrived the closest I could get was 675 yards but still pretty good for a one shot and done. [Linked Image]
