I see Ruger is offering a Magnum RPR now in 300WM & .338 Lapua. I would say that it would be more of a Long Range Target rifle than a Long Range Hunting rifle as it weighs 15#. Interesting though & actually a pretty economical way (purchase price at least) to get a 338 Lapua.

Nomosendero2 ,

You got me wondering about a price comparison of -somewhat- economy 338 Lapua's , I found this Savage on Buds site $904 . It's a single shot but that wouldn't bother me .
This would make one heckofa varmint rifle with some 185-200gr. soft point bullets or of coarse the big 300's since this is the LR forum .

The Ruger looks nice - a rem. 700 is about $2550.oo just saying . I need another rifle like I need another hole in my head .

Yes, the Savage Laqm. stock SS is cheaper but I like how you can swap barrels, yse I know you can with a Savage but it would still be a single shot, I did read a good writeup on the Savage 300WM Chassis thou, I havn't heard alot about their lapua Chassis

Hmm...Savage 112 in .338 Lapua, single shot...sending $5 bills precisely, sounds tempting.
