So what’s the heaviest, highest BC bullet y’all using that will stabilize? 105 amax, are there any great factory loadings for long range ( I don’t have my reloading equipment handy).,

I don't think a 105 grain AMAX will stabilize in a 1 in 10" twist 243. I haven't tried them in my Tikka 243 with a 10" twist, so I can't say for sure. Take a look in various loading manuals, Hornady for one. I think the Berger manual I have downstairs might have the answer, too.

Not the highest bc but the 87 vmax has shot excellent from 5-6 different slower twist 243’s out to 800yds that I’ve used or shot with.

I have a Rem model 7 listed at 1/9.125 twist that won’t shoot the 105 bthp but my Rem 700 will bughole them. The 105 bthp is shorter than the Amax.

My marlin is a 1/10 and works well with a 100. I have custom with a 1/9.5 that will shoot the berger vld but a 1/10 will not shoot the vld. So no I doubt a 105 would do well but try them anyway.

In some conditions a 10” twist will just barely stabilize the 105 AM or HPBT, but if yours won’t in the conditions you shoot in, the 87 VM isn’t terrible,

My 10 twist would shoot easy 1" groups with 80's.

With 100 PSP's, they wouldn't fly in there sideways, but 3 or 4 inch groups.

It might've been 1:11 twist.

What altitude are you at? If sea level ish, you'll have a tough time, maybe the Nosler 95 gr BT at .379 G1. If you're higher up, say '5000 you can use something like the 95 gr Berger classic, which is .434 G1.

1:10 should stabilize 100 grain spitzers but Remington, after learning its lesson with the .244 came out with the 6mm with a 1:9. I had one for years and shot everything from 85 grain Spitzers to 105 grain Speers and it stabilized them all.

A 10 twist limits you to standard PSP type bullets up to 100 grains. IF you want a tipped bullet, the 87s are best. The 90 TMK works at elevation but not so well at sea level.

Viking- the twist is usually not the most important factor for long range. . what rifle/barrel are you shooting? I beat factory rifles Easily with my hart barrel rem 700 .243- 12 twist shooting 87 and 88 grain bullets at 1000,600 and 500 yards. i never been beaten by a factory rifle in competition. I shot a coyote 496 yards with a 70 grain bullet with it. currently I have 4 sako and 2 remington .243s. plus I load for two buddies also. it is a great round.

I picked up a 22 inch stainless/fluted Tikka.

Hmmm, and I've beaten several custom barrels in competition with a factory Rem .243 barrel shooting the 105 Horn HPBT. Anecdotes like that really don't prove much. The fact remains that a fast twist and sleek bullet gives the shooter a big advantage when shooting at LR, particularly if there's any wind.

I recently built a 6x47L. A couple grains less powder than the 243 but velocities are a little higher. I have an 8 twist. My next one will have a 7.5" twist.

This. Don’t think you’ll be able to top the 90 grain Tipped GameKing for BC...or arguably effectiveness on big game.

The only problem is the "pressure" box. This refers to atmospheric pressure, which varies primarily with altitude. That's pretty simple: Just use 1 digit less for each 1000 feet above sea level. The standard is 29.92, so use 27 for 3000 feet above sea level, or 25 for 5000, etc.

A few years ago I built a 6mmBR rifle with 10" twist and started reading forum posts about what bullet would stabilize.
I noticed some posters could and some others could not with the same bullet.
I knew with a 14" twist bullet I could stabilize a 75 gr Vmax, sometimes.

So I settled on a 95 gr Nosler ballistic tip. I shot two antelope opening morning in 2016.

My youngest boy has a Tikka in .243 with the 10 twist. It shoots the 95 grain Nosler Ballistic tips lights out. He has settled on that as the best long range bullet for that gun/twist. It did not like the Hornady 105's

if you can get the precision. for sure. I did try 95 bergers in my factory 700 bdl varmint . I could not get them to shoot . a tikka 10 twist. I would shoot 90 grain lapua scenars. they are awesome out of my brothers tikka.

Might not be the highest BC bullet but my factory Remington 243 does very well in the accuracy department with the 90gr Scenars

In a sample of two, I can tell you the 90 tipped Match King works well on my both mule deer and coues whitetail. Not sure what twist will stabilize it as mine is 8 twist.
