Who is the preferred outfit to rent go/no go gauges from?
Ordered a Tikka prefit from Preferred Barrel this afternoon and wanting to have it lined up with who to rent from.
Needing 280Ai(SAAMI)
Thank you.

I've been pleased with the finish reamers that I've rented from 4D Rentals out of Kallispell, MT.

Same here... No issues with that outfit..
I think this is a subsidiary of PT&G in White City, I have rented a lot of reamers from them, located near Grants Pass, and every single one has been new or cut like brand new. Excellent. But, their shipping is overly pricey, IMO.

4D reamer rentals. I've used Elk Ridge too and it isn't even close.

I don't think so. Its a kid who works at PTG starting up/running his own business. I've been very unhappy with his poor communication and less than stellar service and the excuse is always that he's working three jobs.
4D in Kalispell left me satisfied, I have PTandG custom reamers and gages of my own, they're fine.
That said, if you have a screw-on, and are going to size your cases before first firing, a sized, unfired case "snug but not TOO snug" has worked for my wildcats. And for factory standard chamberings too, again with pre-sized and prepped new brass. SAAMI gages are a good idea for factory-ammo shooters, however, or if you ever intend to sell that rifle on the "open market."
So I'm looking for GO/NO GO gauges on 4D's page and not seeing them the OP isn't asking for reamers
I was going to rent one from Elk Ridge once and ask for a print of the reamer or at least what the free bore was on the reamer. They had no clue what I was talking about, so I passed.

I bought a go gauge and can check out no-go etc. by backing it up with a piece of aluminum pop can.
A sized case with 2 layers of Scotch tape on the head.
In my limited testing, a new case is a little longer than go-gauge, maybe .001" more. I would hesitate to rely heavily on new or sized cases, vs. spending the small cost of a gauge.
