Do not overlook Douglas....the last several barrel blanks I got from them shot one little ragged hole at 100 yards off a bench and no wind. I am not the best shot in the world, but the last three I got, which was in the last 6 months did it. They typically have the blank I need ready to ship too. Muller Works makes a first rate barrel too, as does Pac-nor. They are all fantastic to deal with. There really aren't any bad barrels out there. Barreled several for a guy a few years back that wanted Hawk Hills and they shot perfect too.

I second Douglas. Big fan of Lothar Walther too---- high-quality steel and German industrial manufacturing quality.
In 2022 I have been tapering easy to find fat premium barrels down to hunting taper.
It takes at least 3 hours on my lathe.
Any danger of messing up the way the barrel shoots?
I retapered 2 barrels from no taper bull barrels down to ~ #2 taper in Sept 2021, and then sighted in with one group and then shot deer in Oct 2021:
a) Sav 110E 280AI, shot 1.5" 3 shot group at 100 yards... not as good as hoped. b) 1903 Turk Mauser 260, shot 0.5" 3 shot group at 100 yards.... better than expected.
260
All the barrels I have tapered in 2022 will not get test fired until October 2022
