Adding a metal butt plate to a rifle that came with a rubber one?
Have a LH Zastava in 7.62x39 and am planning on adding a steel butt plate.

Kinda thought it would be weird?

On a rifle with low recoil, not weird at all

Well it will change the length of pull and it will increase the felt recoil. Oh yes, and it will cost money and likely devalue the rifle somewhat if you decide to sell it because the buyer may want a rubber recoil pad. However, if it please you - why not do it.

Right now it is slightly modified with a flip flop recoil pad.
Not woried about resell value since I bought the rifle for a excellent price

Seriously? Devalue a Zastavas by going to a steel plate over a rubber pad? I don’t see a buyer getting spun up over that.
