Any of you ever built on one?
I have a 6.5-06 built on one, bought a couple of years ago. It shoots really well. Don’t know who built it

That's a great looking stock.
Where did you get it ?
There was a thread or two on those a few years ago. IIRC they are reportedly solid, but need a good bit of finishing up.

You might try PMing TC1 about them. He might have had one done. If my recollection is faulty, I apologize in advance to both of you!

Gunner had one built as well.
I'm interested in what the method of scope mounting was
Talley offers scope mounts for Dumoulin.

From the gunsmith who built the rifle. He had a selection of stock blanks in shop and I choose the blank that is now on the rifle above.

No, the gunsmith milled the cuts for the Talley rings. AFAIK this was done before Talley came out with their mounts.

I am hoping you can see the cuts he made for the Talley rings.
I believe they came as square bridges.
They are square bridges but they have some odd- ball dovetail milled in that differs from front to rear. I guess i have to decide if i want to mill the existing dovetail to match Talley or screw and pin the Talley bases to it...

i would like to do a nice Mauser build some time and this action keeps catching my eye. I hope you keep us up to speed on it.
Any pics of the safety and bottom metal please? smile
It's a button in the guard I believe.

Yeah, I had Mark Stratton put one together for me years ago. At that time you could still buy rings that were cut for the factory bridges. I bet that's dried up by now. I found an old "guild" barrel that was octagon with a full integral rib and thought the square bridges would make a nice addition. It was bored out to a .338-06. I built the stock on it and am reasonably happy with the results. Doumlin was just one of the names they put on these. They are all the same action though. Not as slick as a FN but maybe a little better than a Charles Daily. I've enjoyed mine.

Dennis, Stan Ware had one of those in his shop with tapered dove tails for Sako pattern rings. Are yours tapered? -Al

I would be well pleased with that rifle, it is a nice bit of kit.

Not sure if still available?

I looked at the milling option but could not come up with a good recoil lug for the rings would be interesting to see the rifle without rings to see what was done there

The rifle pictured above has SunnyHill rings. They've gone up substantially since I bought mine. If they still stock them, you're in business.

Below is a picture of the action. A metal dowel pin is inserted in the ring base and seats in the "U" area on the front ring.

I never thought about that pretty sure my action has that cut would be easy to alter the ring

In my head I was welding and other shenanigans

Yes, it is!
I don't have it in front of me. I'm in Alaska and my action is in
Arizona. I found a nice Browning Safari and I'll probably rebarrel to 9.3.
I'm going to use Talley bases and pin them on the Sarco
I built a 9.3x62 on mine. Took a lot of work to clean up the action. I had to make a mandrel to face off the front of the action, it was .006" out of true.
Seems to shoot just fine. I started out with a 2.5-8 vx3 but since switched to a Credo 1-4x
