I didn't want to do any refinishing on the stock until I saw how the accuracy was.
Once I got a couple of groups in the .0's , it's definitely time to fix her up.
Paint is over a can of Color Shift with many coats of clear.
Hopefully get back to the range this weekend.

Thanks for letting me share

Wow, that's gorgeous. Is that the old Shilen action too?

Those Shilen DGA actions are excellent. Nice gun!

Yes sir, underside barrel stamping is 11 T 75 SM
I got it a couple of years ago from a guy in Louisiana, who had just bought it from an estate sale in TX. He was a gun owner but knew nothing about this rifle.

Thank you for the kind words.
I grew up chasing the sweetest in accuracy. But never wanted to throw big money into a rifle/setup. I came into this deal pretty sweet. I've already been offered more than what I have in it, for just the rifle. And I got it with rifle, 36x Leupold, lots of dies, and almost 700pcs of brass and ammo. She shoots to good to part with it. And in my favorite caliber to boot. If I would change anything on it, I would add 5-10# of weight and cut the tight neck chamber out.

Thanks again,

R.D.

Did you paint it yourself? Beautiful work.

Looks great and a shooter to boot and at a good price. You should have bought a lottery ticket that day. Maybe I'm missing it but what caliber?

Thank you guys

Tarquin - my dad refinished and painted, I picked out the colors, Rust-Oleum Color Shift Turquoise Waters over black base. So far I've applied several coats of Cerakote paint sealant.

Dave - .222Rem

I'm definitely not the greatest at reading the wind and managed to shoot several decent groups for the conditions, 3-7mph with gusts up to 12mph. I don't believe I had any over .3". The range I shoot at is about 40mins from my house. There wasn't even a breeze when I left the house. Oh well, better than working.

Thanks again,

24grs BL-C2 pushing vintage Sierra 53gr benchrest bullets, brass is WW Super Speed with Fed SR match primers. Haven't run them across the chrony yet, which I'm alright with considering I'm barely off of starting charge.
