The big brown truck finally delivered my McMillan today so that I could give the custom a new home. It still has to be bedded and then the load developement starts.

The pics aren't the greatest but I broke my finger on Saturday so my normally bad picture taking skills are worse than normal.

The pics make the stock look lighter colored than it really is.

Loose that big azz ugly scope and the Kenworth shifter knob you stuck on the bolt handle and that would be a pretty good looking rifle

That weight isn't too bad for what it is. I thought it would be heavier. Nice looking setup. I bet its a real shooter. What bullets are you planning on running?

Yeah, that's lighter than I thought it would be with a #5 barrel and a big scope.

Got some 140 gr Accubonds and some 140 gr. TSX's.
I'm thinking one of them will shoot.

That rifle turned out great, I'd sure be proud of it. I'm interested in your thoughts on the stock pattern as I've been pondering that stock for a varmint rifle on a 700.

With my limited exposure to the stock my initial impressions are all positive. The wide fore end is definately wider than what I am accustomed to but not so wide as to be a hindrance of any kind. The comb is a little higher but it's designed that way for the 50mm scopes. For a rifle that might encounter long range shot opportunities it seems to be up to the task.
I can shoulder the rifle with my eyes closed and then open my shooting eye and the scope is right there. No moving or searching for the sight picture.
This is my first full custom and so far I'm impressed and happy.
