I acquired this rifle in a multi-gun trade years back. I had plans on doing something with it, but never did. And at the rate I'm going, the "project" will outlive me. So, it looks like its gonna go. Rifle is a Mauser based benchrest/varmint(?) rifle in 6mm-284. Trigger is very crisp and pretty light. I don't know who put this together, who supplied the stock, or who the barrel maker was.

Please let me know what you think, and an approximate/fair value for the rifle, sans scope.

Looks like a Fajen stock and a FN action

In terms of value this is just one mans opinion but....I look at it in terms of an action that can be worked with.

So, I'd be saying 300 bones is what I feel it is worth (to me).

And, I could be way wrong as I've been so b4....at least once

I have that stock on a Springfield, albeit a bit more 'buffed' up. Can't recall what Fajen called it.

The flat bolt knob and peep sight screws on the right rear of the receiver look just like an FN, but of course it could be something else.

At a minimum, its a bit of a step up from sportarizing a milsurp piece...

In any event, its been collecting dust too long with me.

The action has a thumb cut in the left side. It appears to be a sporterized ex-military rifle. Any markings visable under the bases? Does the rear base have elevation and windage adjustments?

FN ran thumb cut actions.

It appears to be a sporterized 98 military rifle to me. Two sets of numbers on the receiver, excessive markings, excessive tool marks on the action, and action screw hole on the recoil lug not to centered suggest it was not originally a commercial rifle action to me.

Most all FN 98 actions made I have seen have had Made in Belgium on the lower part of the receiver.

Could that be a Crown, bird, and W crown on the recoil lug bottom? Can't make it out.

No markings under the bases.

Bolt handle looks modified.

Fajan made 2 stock in this configuration, one was a heavy stock called Custom Varminter and the sporter stock was called the Aristocate.

It is a 98 Mauser mauser action.

bolt has been lowered only..drilled an tapped, original bottom metal,

Stock is a low grade Fajan or Bishop

Trigger is an add on.

I personally would value it at $350 max...
