Well I found the Marbled stock thread and the crazy McMillan thread but no camo thread. I am going to be ordering a A1-3 here right away before the sale is up and I am going to be ordering it in the camo finish. I would like to see some pics of your guys rigs with that finish and for sure any who went with different colors than there standard camo. Thanks in advance.
These are just standard camo patterns, but here are...
Desert Camo
GAP Camo
Woodland camo
Woodland Camo
I like this one from McMillan's website. Looks to be olive, dark gray, and light tan.
Desert and Woodland always look sharp with black metal. GAP and Urban look good with SS. I prefer a bit of contrast, instead of the monotone metal/stock look.
I'm thinking about an A1-3 also, but I haven't heard many reviews. Seems everybody goes HTG or A5 these days.
Here is another GAP camo for ya.
DARK CAMO
Campfire Camo
Campfire Camo
What stock pattern are these?
I am looking to get a new McMillan and I want a camo color that is just a little darker than desert. Is campfire camo my best bet? I will be dropping a 700 CDL SF in that new Mickey.
Campfire Camo is just GAP with the addition of Woodland Beige. Sand Camo still has the tans but adds brown (I think).
Stole this pic from another site...
Some nice rifles guys thanks for the pics keep them coming.
GAP camo on a McM Rem Classic ...
Another one..

Another one..
Is that what they call urban camo?
BradArnett,
Love the pic of your rifle, stock and bud light! Doesn't get more american than that!
Why is this thread not a STICKY?
Here is one.
so what is officially Campfire Camo?
This one is black, olive, and gray. If I was doing it again, I'd go with the same scheme but using light gray...
Superseal, that looks like a Mountain rifle pattern in desert camo correct? What kind/color of coating is on the metal?
I like Desert on matte black best, but mine are S/S too.
Should whoop the Krylon out and spruce things up..............
Why is this thread not a STICKY?
Good Question.
Rick?
Anytime someone is looking to order a new one, be it color or model, you could use this post for reference.

I have an Arctic camo waiting for me when I fly home today, curious how it turned out.
This thread was about 20 years old. Dammit. Now I'm going to have to get my camo M40A1's out of the attic and finish the builds I bought them for. Thanks a whole [bleep] lot! This is going to cost me.
I'd feel some sympathy for you, but you're gonna end up costing me about $900 from the pics in the Mickey Compact thread.
Besides, sympathy is just a word in the dictionary between schit and syphilis.
My new Arctic camo. Sorry about the blown exposure.
Artic camo and black metal would look nice too. YA'LL SUCK !
Yeah, I might have to start thinking about sending that B/A to Eddie for a Cerakote job.

I'm liking that also. Any idea on what that weighs? I'm torn between what McMillan stock to get for a new FN M70 coyote light that I am picking up this week. I was thinking a Classic stock but now something in the A-series has me thinking!
Sooooo..... does McMillan know what the CampFire Camo pattern is?

Is Campfire camo the same as McMillan camo? It's hard to tell going by the pic on the McMillan site.
The McCamo and Campfire are different...
The McCamo and Campfire are different...
Can you be more specific?
Colors? Pattern? Both?
Have not held the McCamo in real life, but in pics the color pattern looks to be smaller. Not sure on the actual color selection used though. I believe the Campfire camo is simply GAP with the addition of one other color.
Bottom is mccammo
Nice pic, haven't seen that one yet. Looks like there is some gray patterns?
Anybody have a pic of the Rhino camo?
Thanks Kaleb.
It's going to be a tough decision deciding between the two...or a swirly....grin
If I recall correctly, Campfire Camo contains black, woodland beige (which is the light greenish tone), olive green and tan.
On the Model 70 Varmint...somebody asked about the weight. I'm not sure on the exact weight...guessing 12-13 pounds. The barrel is .950 inch or so at the muzzle and 26 inches long. The scope rail and rings are Badger Ordnance. Scope is a Leupold 4.5-14, and rifle has been pillar bedded into Marine-Tex. It also has the Williams Firearms Co. bottom metal.
It slings a few bullets into .5 inch five round groups at 100 yards and 1.3 inches at 300, but its favorite is 69 gr. Sierra Match Kings ahead of 24.5 grs. of Varget or Reloder 15 for 2910 ft/sec. They can go faster, but this is the accuracy node for this rifle.
Anybody have a pic of the Rhino camo?
Yeah, I'm curious as to the Rhino, and the Coffee Camo as well. Wonder how the Copperhead Camo compares to the Coffee?
In a shocking development, when I looked on McMillan's website, I saw both of the patterns I was looking for.
I kinda like both of them. Might have to order up a couple of A-somethings to try them out.
Dark Camo
Does this count?

Hey Rick, how about a sticky?

It's a McMillan Hunter Benchrest stock, the colors look to be black/white/gray.
You can order any combo of colors your heart desires........
Thank you very much aalf much appreciated
Anybody have a side by side pic of a stock in GAP and Campfire camo?
Specs on this gunnut if you see this. Kinda looks almost exactly like the 243 build I'm thinking about. Thanks
