Welcome to the forum.

That may be a rifle smithed by the late Floyd Butler of Poultney, VT.

Butler was a smith known for his artistic stock work as well as general smithing.

Do you have any more details of that rifle such as the make of the action, a picture?

no i do not ill ask the person to send me a email of the gun all i know is it is in good condition, any value or price range his guns in general go from?

While Butler's work was artistic and well done I would not rate it the finest ever. I see a Butler rifle for sale on GunBroker and they are not giving it away.

On the other hand I would rate Floyd Butlers character and honesty equal to the finest people who have ever walked the face of this earth.

I knew Floyd personally and have had a number of guns smithed by him.

thank you, are they accurate? i was allways wanting a .22 hornet for some of the coyotes around here are they accurate enough for them?

Its a lever action, single shot rifle. There is the F.L. Butler stamp on the barrel, a serial # but thats it.

When you engage the lever, the action opens at the back, the hammer is locked and a single round is placed in the chamber. Action forward, and its ready to fire

that is what he sent me so im guessing its a highwall

wild, i just bought this exact rifle today (must be the same one, same scope/sling/look etc), funny how things get around, was at a local gun store on consignment..The rifle is sweet, what caught my eye was the cool scope. I am more of an unertl guy but the combo was neat, had to buy it
