Out of the many campfire McM stocks that I have seen here, I think these are my favorites.

I also like Stick's brown flame and a whole bunch of Steelhead's as well as Paul's grape/white flame.

There's just too many...

I could be happy with:

#1 = forest green 80% & white 20%

#2 = grape 60%, turquoise 30%, & white or light grey 10%

But I find it difficult to pick out the correct rifle off the rack when the stocks all look so much alike.

I like Steelhead's Salmon colored stock on his Vanguard.

Reverse that one, black at the butt, and it's in my top two for McFlames (tied with something similar to the Jap Blaster). I actually tried to order that one, and forgot to say 'flame'. Whoops. This is what I ended with.

I agree, black at the butt and yellow at the forearm....orange in the middle.

I do have a list of mixes that are in line to be ordered:
1. yellow/orange/black McFlame
2. 60% light green/40% white (one of SH's mixes that I like)
3. red/white/blue McFlame
4. 50% yellow/50% black (SH's 'bumblebee' or deflave's 'wannabee')
5. Copperhead camo

Scott also has a Flame with something like turquoise/white/green or something that I really like.

Ordered a KS red pad MCWoody with the 33% black included instead of the 2 tone brown/tan. Going on the 280 AI I bought off Waterbug recently. Metal on that rifle has been Ceracoated graphite black by Eddie. IM EXCITED

This is one of my favorites - 60% Dark Tan, 20% White, 20% Black:

My workingrifles. The purple is in 9,3x62, the black in .30-06.
Both are ZG 47:s, and I actually like tthe looks on both of them...

Oh baby, that screams .257WM. Did you specify a percent for the black,orange yellow? That kicks ass, and i am considering it for a game scout.

This one is destined to go on a 20 VarTarg (polished stainless Rem 700) if I ever get it back from the smith.

I ordered it through Rick and didn't even bother specifying the percentages of black, red, orange, and yellow - I just emailed Rick the picture below and asked for one like it. I like the one in this picture better... it's about perfect to me, but I'm still happy with how mine turned out, and it should be a really good camo pattern for the prarie dog towns!

I like yours a lil better. It's very hard to get exactly what you want. They almost always turn out cool though.

Yes, as a matter of fact I even talked to Mcmillan about doing 7 colors....they said they could try but they might bleed and look like crap.

I chickened out.

As soon as I finalize the stock I am getting, I know what colors to use.

Is that the new Winchester Hunter pattern stock?

If so, could you comment on the ergonomics of that stock in comparison to, say, the regular pre-64 Monte carlo pattern?

In particular, I am interested to know what you may think of the grip area. I like the pre-64 pattern, but find the grip too closed and too short, so wonderin' about this one...

I didn't come up with the notion, but as far as I know, I am the first documented user of blue tape. I prefer electrical tape to the painter's tape.

WTH. I'll call dibs even though that rifle will probably never be for sale!

Love SH's Bumblebee so much I did one myself.


Superseal's orange and black will likely best next. Hard not to love that one.

I reckon I've looked at this pic over a hundred times, I would have one in a couple of months but I changed my mind and went edge fill so that ruled this combo out.

50% Medium Blue, 50% Purple.

I ordered a 40 Purple, 30 Plum, 20 Turquoise, 10 Pink for my wife's 257 Roberts. Very nice looking stock to make points with the females in your family.
