Anybody have one? Ever Deal with them? From what I can tell they are first class and build super nice/accurate, albiet expensive rifles. $5,000+ without optics.

What's the feeling here?

I have one and love it. Very accurate and well built with good components. I believe they are making one of the best custom rifles out there today. Might seem pricy but you get what you pay for.

I have 2 a 270!Weatherby and a 260 Rem. Both shoot less than 1/4 inch with multiple loads. Very honest and easy to deal with.
I do not own one, but a couple of my friends do. They are all in 270 Weatherby and they shoot lights out. McWhorter worked up the loads for them, and they continue to buy the ammo from them. And yes, they are higher than jeep parts..

I have one and love it. I've had a lot of rifles but have never had one that shoots like this. Here's a grouping with my 185 gr hand loaded Bergers from last week with my McWhorter .300 WM without a brake:

Here are the specs:

-300 Win mag on Custom Borden action, helically fluted bolt, side bolt release, 8/40s
-Hart SS Matchgrade #4 Fluted barrel 24"
-McMIllan BDL model stock in 70% Brown, 15% black, 15% lt tan
-Jewell Trigger at 1.8 lbs
-Black Cerakote on all metal surfaces
-Talley mounts

This is a fun gun to shoot and it's amazing the accurancy it has for this caliber. They put brakes on most of their guns and wanted one of on this one but I declined. I was visiting with Tim McWhorter a couple of weeks and he still wanted to add one... smile

Calling Tim today to do the deed. Alan is off hunting.

I bought a used one 6 or 7 years ago from Cabelas for $1,500. It was the best money I ever spent on a gun. It is a left hand model with an Ed Brown action in 338 Win Mag.

Just a great piece of equipment. Last gun I would ever part with this side of eternity.

You will not be disappointed.
Yep! As we shared in PM's Buzzsaw, my 6.5 Weatherby would likely be the last of my 90+ gun collection to go. High price, but excellent craftsmanship.

Well, I did it, $$ is down, I'm in line, just need to decide on which Mickey to go with.....

What caliber did you go with and how long is the wait? They make some nice rifles.
Posted By: Buzzsaw Re: McWhorter Custom Rifles - 11/24/13
6.5 Weatherby, 6-7 months, depending only on McMillan.

They have the Dies, brass is available for forming, bullets are available. POWDER is going to be the main problem. They develop a load and include the recipe and a box of loaded rounds.

I have 7828ssc, 4831sc, RE-22, H-1000 and Mag-Pro left over from my 7mmWSM.

Of course, I will keep everyone who gives a chit posted.
I have one sitting in my safe that I have not shot since I received it.

Sort of an interesting rifle as it is hunting model type rifle in a 6br which is a repeater not a single shot. A number of people say you cannot make a repeater out of this caliber as it will not feed properly. Not so with this one. It is a beautiful rifle. Predator action, Schneider barrel, HS precision prairie grass colored stock, Badger 30mm rings topped with a 10x60x56 scope.
