Kevin Weaver at Weaver Rifles finished my new 375-06. Build as follows:

Remington Model 700 KS
Benchmark Barrel matching the original contour
Remington KS Stock (A McMillan)
All metal is Ceramic coated.
Talley Light Weights
Leupold 2.5-8x36
Entire finished products weights 7.5 pounds loaded and ready to go.

Haven't shot it a lot yet just created one load with the Nosler 260 grain accubond at 2600fps.

My only 200 yard group was three shot at about 1 1/2 inches. Kevin does awesome work.

To top it off I got a decent 4x4 Mule Deer at 211 yard with it last Saturday. Exactly what you would expect from a 375-06 a bang flop.

Nice...

Thats cool. Got a pic of the round next to a 30-06?
Posted By: Redside Re: My new 375-06 - 10/12/13
Here is a pic comparing the standard 30-06 to the standard 375-06. You can put away those fears about headspace. Just neck out a 30-06 case and shoot, no problems at all.

Dude, thats cool!

Would you part with a dummy round?

Very Nice!!!

Always wanted one, but never built one (yet).

Redside what kind of velocities are you getting and w/what bullet? powdr
Posted By: KDK Re: My new 375-06 - 10/13/13
I'd rock that...

So far I have only worked with IMR 4320 and the 260 Nosler Accubond out of a 24 inch barrel it tops out right at 2600 with that powder and bullet combination. I have a bunch of 235 speer, 250 sierra and 270 speer bullets I will update you on the real world velocities I am getting from those bullets as soon as I can get out of the house. If I was guessing I would bet 2800 with the 235, 2700 with the 250 and 2500 with the 270.
Posted By: raybass Re: My new 375-06 - 10/13/13
" 2700 with the 250 " that would be the ticket in my book. Between the 260 gr at 2600, the 250 gr TTSX or GMX and the Sierra there isn't much you can't do.

Is that a fireformed case in the picture or a not yet fired case?

Interesting round!

PS Rifle looks great I love dark green and black
Posted By: 340mag Re: My new 375-06 - 10/13/13
looks nice and Im sure it will perform well, Ive used a 35 whelen with 250 grain speers for decades and the two cartridges can,t be that far apart in performance

Nice rifle, those 260 AB ought to knock the piss out of anything in front of them.

I'm going out today to do some chronograph testing of the sierra 250, stand by for results.

Cool rifle project, looking forward to your report.

Very cool rifle.

I don't have any pictures to share but I took my load of 58 grains of 4320 with the Nosler 260 Accubond which was running about 2589 fps today and shot a three shot group at 200 yards. It was right around 2 inches. Then I took the Sierra 250 Gameking loaded to the same 58 gr of 4320 which gave me a muzzle velocity of 2601 fps with no pressure signs at all and shot a 200 yard three shot group that measured 1 inch. I am going to load some more of the 250 up with 59 and 60 grains. I should get my 2700 fps. Then the question is...which load do I take hunting for elk?

That is an awesome rifle!

Accubond for elk.

Wow. Very nice

Pretty sure that would travel from tip to tail of about anything here in Misssissippi. Way cool.

Which to take for elk? Any of them will do! Jack

Very nice build! That is a cool cartridge and rifle! Awesome work!

Very cool

Looks like I'm going to stick with my 260 Accubond load. Went out and did some long range shooting with the new rifle and got a pretty awesome 3-4 inch three shot group at 400 yards. I have a leupold CDS dial made for it and it works perfect. The dial actually takes me out to 600 yards but I'm not sure my bullet would be traveling fast enough to expand. Bring on the elk!!

Redside,

Cool rifle. I just had my old Sedgley Springfield rebored to the standard 375 Whelen, which is the 375-06 with no changes other than bullet diameter. I haven't shot mine yet but have gathered an immense stack of bullets with which to develop loads this winter. We'll have to compare notes on load development.

Mart, who do you use for your reboring?

I just had an old 338 Win Mag rebored into a 35 Newton by JES, wondering who else does the work.

That 375 Whelen sounds very slick!

That sounds like a plan.

JES Reboring did mine. Great work and fast turn around.

Yeah, seems the same here. Glad to hear of others using him as well with good experience. His rifling looks excellent. It'll be awhile before I get to shoot it, but it looks first rate.
Posted By: Otter6 Re: My new 375-06 - 10/23/13
I've got and old shot out M700 here that I have been thinking of sending to JES just for the fun of it. THAT looks like a bunch of fun. Very cool round.

Friends and I used the 250 Sierra's in big cartridges at 3000+. They work quit well. Should be just fine wt 2700 or so. Also, I used them in a 375-06 improved with a 20 3/4" barrel. Short, handy, powerful. Got over 2700 but the pressure was likely high.
