Suggest a 3 groove Nitrided barrel or it will be fired in <1000 rounds.

Bad advise, I would suggest a 5 groove either R or C.

a 3 groove with this fire breather will blow-up bullets well before 1000 rounds

Guessing that depends on the bullet

Check with Scott Null in Driggs Idaho. He actually build a lot of 3 groove nitrided barrels and can explain their superiority. Briefly 3x barrel life and higher velocity. All A4s now being built for our troops have nitrided barrels.
Scott has customers with nitrided Swifts shooting hot varmint loads over 5000 rounds with no loss of accuracy.

The 22-243 AI is hardly a fire breather when used as intended . long range w/heavy bullets. The 22-244 imp aka the 22-6mm rem is actually a superior cartridge and has demonstrated 1/2 MOA accuracy out to 1000 yards with heavy Berger VLDs. It was written up and tested in Handloader several years ago.

Wonder if any of the posters actually own a 3 groove nitrided barrel ?

Mine shoots 1/3rd MOA to 500 yards (farthest tested) and that's 5 shots not 3.

I do not have a drawing, but I could send you a few pieces of fire formed brass. Send me a PM if desired.

Sharp Shooter's Supply rechambered a Savage single Shot model 112 in 22-250 for me. It is 14 in twist and I shoot 60 gr Hornadys in it.
