Friend brought over a 700 like I have never seen. High gloss blue all over, 24" Magna Ported barrel , 300 Weath. Mag., Hi grade European walnut classic style stock, low gloss well filled finish, shadow line cheek piece, extensive 20LPI checkering in point pattern, Blackburn style all steel bottom metal, deluxe red recoil pad with "London Guns Santa Monica,CA" in tiny letters on pad. No fore end tip. The metal has Remington's standard markings on barrel and receiver. No other markings visible.

Owner received it as a gift and knows nothing about it.

Anyone have a clue as to origin?

Sounds like a restocked factory rifle. I don't think you will get any response without photos.

Remington chambered the 300 Weatherby in the 700 Classic for 1989 and the 700 BDL from 1990 to 2000.

Sounds like a restocked factory rifle with aftermarket bottom metal.
