Looking to build a rifle that will be used for shooting at a bench for varmints
Thinking about a Manners since my last two took less than four months and my last McMillan took almost 8 months

So perusing the Manners site, the T2A looks like it would be a good one
I would be using bipod and rear bag
I have never seen one of this model and was looking for some input

Thanks

I run the T2 non adjustable on my 7 wsm. I sure like it a lot. I use a rear bag about 99% of the time and would rather have the angled bottom of the t2 vs the hook of the t4. Its much easier to slide the bag to make elevation adjustment vs squeezing it.

So I read on their website that it has a 3/4" flat area on bottom
How does that work with bags

This sounds like the stock I want but have never seen one

Thanks

Buster, they will send you one to handle if you give them a credit card on file. All it costs you is return shipping.

Excellent

Thanks for sharing
I just may do that

I have a T2A. It is quite beefy in the grip. Rides the bags well. The KMW hardware in the cheekpiece is excellent. Overall a great stock, although I prefer the grip on the T5

I have a T5A and love it (and another on order)
I was wanting to try something different for different's sake

However, I'm leaning towards another T5A
Stocks are hard for me to decide on. I always seem to go back and forth.

Thanks guys

Jeff do you have a T6?

I'm looking to build a colony varmint rifle in small caliber
So it will be a gun for the bench only and will be shooting for long periods

Any thoughts?

Brad:

I had Manners send me one to look at - NICE!!

It was more sleek compared other popular tactical stocks, but still had the ergonomics to do what your looking to do on a bench and/or a rest.

Call & talk to Tom Manners - his customer service is one of the best in the business!!!

Thanks bud, I may just do that

A Faux McMillan has never appealed to me,but Imitation is THE most sincere form of Flattery. Tom do it better than most,in fairness.

Instantaneous McMillan Gratifications are an easy itch to scratch and there are multiple routes of reliable travel, that'll have a handle in mitts...within a coupla days.

Though the build blueprint ain't been cited,it sounds S/A and most likely 700,wearing a VS contour as a minimum. Them thangs roll rather nicely into an A5 and that handle easily remains the pick of the litter,as a means of carting sucha contour in a Utilitarian handle. Be easy to have same at the house,in 3 days, assuming fair to middlin' weather for the Mail Man.

Hell...even McMillan directly, has 'em ready to roll and swirled to boot. 'Course,I never was much into [bleep] around.

Hint.

Big Boxer, Did anybody mention McMillan? I remember when you beat the Leup drum too, but I see we've moved on! Just poking at you so don't go getting bent out of shape. Seriously, have you tried the EH1? I'm loving it.

I have four of the EH2 and love them. I have a T5A and one on order and love those too.

Just wanted to try something different for different's sake.
I think I may just end up getting another T5A as I know what I'm getting there

You'll haveta pardon my being farrrrrrrrrrr more literate than you. Cheer up,I have it on good authority, that I've one Leupold scope or more. Hell,I might even have one stock or more. Laffin'!

As mentioned prior,as Imitation McMillan's go,Tom's are better than most. Hold the Fluff and pass the real stuff.

In all fairness, the HTG is an easy target but the stocks are roughly the same proportions and serve the same purpose so its a reasonable comparison. The EH1 made this rig soooo much better, though I do shoot it mostly prone so less drop = more better is a given. The EH1 is essentially the T2 grip/butt and the T forend.

CT: that rifle looks hella sexy in either handle.

I've never heard of an HTG or M40A1,whether OEM NIB or 8541 Return...especially when wearing a Reupold.

It's all new to me.

Suplized noone has mentioned an A5.

Hint.
Posted By: ctsmith Re: Manners T2A - 06/11/14
Regarding the A5, I am not a fan of fat forends and hooks, but thats just me. For most others it is the bar and I can understand that. In general, McMillan is the bar but Manners has filled some holes in McMillan's line, and done it well.

Those return stocks are nice................would like to find one someday & put it to good use!!
Posted By: busterhindend Re: Manners T2A - 06/11/14
Please place me among those who don't "know" or "do" much. I know my place laugh grin

Regarding the A5, I really like mine, but it took 8 months to get this one. (When this picture was taken, I didn't have an Atlas bi-pod and I ordered this stock with an Atlas pic rail. That's why the Harris looks so far back in the photo)

Seems like I may have another McMillian around here somewhere

Here's a couple McMillan clones. Can't remember the name, but they sure do have good Manners

Seems to me they call this a HS stock

Seems I may have a couple laying around

Don't worry, the Manners will all get painted. I'll have my 5 year old niece use her Crayola's

Three of the four last McMillans ordered had inlet problems. All were using the exact same action. One was a short action and was inletted for a long action. The build sheet even had .223 action on it. Bad to wait 6.5 months and get wrong inlet and have to send back and wait another month.

I have ordered 2 Manners in 2014 and both were less than four months.

Buster, don't not order a McMillan because of the delivery time. Manners can take a while and its not unheard for complications to delay the process (not going in to it but take my word for it, situations similar to yours with McMillan. A little research validates the same). A few months difference is a mute point in my book.

All that being said, the quality of a Manners is at least that of McMillan, if not better. It looks like you've enough handles of each to confirm. Pick the stock that will fit what you think you're looking for and order it.

I did go ahead and order a Manners yesterday because of delivery time. I want to get this one built as soon as I can.

I really like manners stocks. When I decided to build my 375 VM2 I chose manners.
