Anybody try the Micro Slick treatment on the bolt of their custom build? Durability? Worth the investment?
Yes. On a Defiance Rebel. Has held up well over 100 or so rounds which is not much of a test. Can't answer the last question for you but I think so.
Care to share a pic? Are you noticing any wear yet?
Eddie Fosnaugh did one for me a few years ago - not a custom just on a stainless 700 short action. I liked it, it sure was slick and seemed to hold up fine. Liked how it looked also with the stainless. Good stuff IMHO.
I have it on my bolt on my 260 and it's pretty slick. Haven't shot mine very much at all but it damn sure looks good with the Sniper Grey Cerakote...

Thanks for the pic buddy. It hard to tell in pics, is it more of a black or a blue hue?
So, what's the purpose of this Micro Slick?
Here is another - you can sort of see the color in contrast with stainless. I'd say its almost a grey/black/blue mix maybe?? It's a pretty slick color:)

OD Cerakote/ MicroSlick in a Campfire Camo McMillan Mountain Rifle

Can't believe its been 10 years since I built that rifle...
Thanks for all the help gentlemen.
Here is my GAP Templar bolt with micro slick. Exactly 1600 rounds on it. Most of the contact surfaces are worn, but overall it has held up better than anything else I have used.
