This came out of a Gew.98, had been converted sporter at some point. From the color I'm guessing that it is/was what passed for a FW Deluxe when it was made. Never seen another quite like it. Can anyone fill me in? Most likely selling it to a fellow member and was curious about it's age.

Doesn't look much different than their current offering.

I don't see anything different either but will say the deluxe is a very nice trigger.
Trigger is too long to be a Kar.98, shaped different too. Didn't they consolidate to a basic standard 10 years ago or so? Was before I got read up on the subject. The trigger that is supposed to fit(according to Timney) is the FN98 model which looks way different. Hard to tell in the pics but I believe the housing to be closer to the shape of the current "Sportsman" trigger, but wiht a FW style sear. Got me a bit perplexed.

The current housing looks different to me.
I've got one just like it in my commercial FN 270. Really like it. Mine is probably around 20 years old now, but really doesn't mean much as the new ones look just about the same.

I suspect Timney would help you out with it. They have been very good to deal with over the years, very good.
I have this exact trigger on a .416 Taylor I built about fifteen years ago on a Mauser 98 action.
Send them a pic, they will tell you right quick.
