In the Winchester Forum a caliber that I cannot find any info on question has came up. Anybody ever heard of a 264 Wacker Improved before? I ask because I am a huge fan of the 264 Win Mag. and I can't find any info on the Wildcat?

Thanks

Nope. One fella did a 6.5 WSSM. Had to ream 25 brass. Bad looking round but about 260 performance

Never heard of that one. Here's a photo of my wildcat 6.5SLR. It holds two grains more water than a .264 Win Mag at 84 grains. I use it in a Weatherby Mark V Ultralight six lug rifle. It weighs 6 lb 14 oz with a 27" Pac-Nor barrel ending with a Terminator 2 brake. It has a Bushnell 4200 4-16X40 in Talleys. The stock is a Proof Research Weatherby look alike. The parent case is a 9.3X64 Brennecke.

So is that a 6.5x64mm Brenneke improved? https://www.midwayusa.com/65x64mm-brenneke/br?cid=9913

Thank You guys for the comments. It appears much like an Ackley Improved with a 40 deg. shoulder.

Yes. I can no longer get brass so I bought 200 7 Rem Mag brass, had the belts turned off and the rims turned down. I started using them this week. but had to work up new loads. It appears the rifle responds with Fed 215 Mag primer sparking N205 powder pushing Barnes 127 LRX to about 3,180 feet per second. First three shot group was 5/8". Tomorrow I will do a five shot group. I have no idea when my bullets will arrive so I will clean the boat while I wait.

Nice set up

What do you mean 9.3x64 is no longer available!!!! I just had one built and am fitting wood to it. I tried the turning the belt off way of making brass, but the shellholder became an issue. Let me know how it works out.

If the Wacker is an Improved belted mag it must be similar to a 264 Mach 4. All that is is an Ackley shoulder on the regular belted mag case.

I tried several websites with100% out of stock. I guess the shell holder is okay after making the brass fit. I am pleased. The brass is on its sixth firing.

Thanks

I seen two identical Winchester model 70 rifles at a gunshow a few years back both marked .264 WM improved
Had a 40 degree shoulder is all with a blown out case.
