I have in 2017:
22LR 10/22 done
257 Roberts Arisaka done
223 Rem Anderson AR15 done

This will be the year of the short actions
243 Win pre 64 M70 Win.. have not cut chamber or threads yet on Benchmark barrel
250 Sav Sav 12...have not cut chamber or threads yet on LIlja barrel
260 Rem Rem700..have not cut chamber or threads yet on Benchmark barrel
308 Rem 700..have not cut chamber or threads yet on Shilen barrel
Couple more Creedmoors . . . 6.5 and 6mm . . . . . because I can.
Not really a custom more like a modified factory. I bought a special run T3 from Whittaker's. 223 1/8twist with the fluted barrel like a super lite but blued with the camo stock.

Plan to have the bolt fluted and change out the bolt handle. Plan for a McMillian Edge stock sooner or later.
I am building my 9 year old son his first big game rifle -(6.5 creedmoor ) so he will be ready to go chase spring bear when he turns 10 next year- actually got a call this morning from the smith letting me know the metal work was done...

Rem 700 short action
Timney Trigger
Fluted and lighten bolt
Fluted Shilen #2 finished at 23"
B&C Mountain Rifle stock ADL, cut to 13" LOP
Talley Low 1 piece mounts...
Scope - Undecided, but I have an extra 3-9x conquest or may look at a 3-9x cds VX2

Going to work up some reduced 125 grain Partition loads - should be a great rifle for him.

That sounds like a GREAT build right there.

Your son is very fortunate. That is a very good build in a mild recoiling caliber. Kudos to you.
I've got Turnbull building me a .50-110 express on a Browning M71 action.

I'm also pondering the idea of building a light 6.5 Leopard (WSM) on a M70/Featherweight stock with a 1:8 twist barrel. That isn't 100% for sure though.
Building a .350 Rigby, 10.75x68, and Mannlicher stocked 9,3x62 and two 6.5x55's; one on a std 98 action, the other on an intermediate.

Just completed a McMillan stocked 9,3x62.
Had a 6mm Rem on a 700 action completed in April. Now working toward getting the pieces together for a .222 Rem Mag build on a 700.
Well.. 2017 is soon over.

But, I am modifying a Tikka T3 Varmint in 6,5x55 with a McMillan A-3 and S&B 10x42 scope.

Next year I might start on two singleshot Sako A1 & Sako A2 action I have.
They come with the target triggers, with a ridiculous low pull weight.
Mannlicher stocked Mauser, Left Hand, chambered .270Win. First true custom commission...
More in the selling mode to support hunting and my car I am tweaking.
Working on a pair of M98's in 270 for my boys right now. Metal work is done, just need to get them parked and off to McMillan for stocks.
25-06 on a M70 and a 6mm AI on a Rem 700.
458 Win. Most likely a 98 with iron sights.

Tell me more about this McMillan stocked 9.3x62.... Got any pictures?

Shilen 22" 1-8 twist SS match in featherweight contour
Chambered with a custom reamer from PTG
Mcmillan edge stock with PTG aluminum floorplate
New Haven M70 SS long action
NECG express sights
Liquid/Salt Bath Ferritic Nitrocarburizing for the finish.
Scoped with ?

I am hoping he enjoys it...really seems into hunting and the outdoors for a youngster. Should be a great rifle that we can throw into a full size McMillan once he reaches an age that he outgrows the 13" LOP. Heck, maybe he will like the B&C, and we just put on a full size replacement.
Full custom Mauser on a 1909 argentine action chambered to 6.5x55 and on the other end of the spectrum, a $250 savage 110 with do it yourself barrel installs in 22-250 and 243.
Nathan Chesney is just finishing up a *gulp* .270 for me.
There, I said it - two-seven-zero. whistle

I'm done building.........

However, a new coyote smacking re-barrel coming as soon as my new reamer shows up.
Today I just received my barreled action for this years hunting rifle. I'll put it together this weekend and start working up some loads.

Rainbow cerakote?

I'm waiting on a 260AI to get finished up and I'm not planning on building anything else this year....but that plan could change.

Just a hint of rainbow.

The 260 AI sounds like a whole bunch-of-fun.

375-284 21" ER Shaw 2 1/2 contour 1:12 in B&C Medalist with VZ24. NECG sights with fiber optic front. Exclusively shooting 270 Hornady RN.
Just finished a 280 on a commercial Mauser action. Cerakoted Shilen barrel at 23in w/Obendorf handle and an MPI stock. Slick lookin rig.

#2 I'm waiting on a 338-284 built on a Turk action w/fluted barrel and Pacific Research stock. Should be close to 7.5lbs all up but the GS just keeps draggin his feet. powdr
I put together a 6.5 SAUM on a Defiance Deviant action, McMillan A5 Edge stock, Brux fluted barrel, Jewell trigger, Wyatt's extended center feed box and PTG Oberndorf bottom metal. Comes in at 11 lbs scoped. I need to send the stock off to get it hydrodipped in Kuiu Vais. I have Nosler 140 gr RDFs and JLK 130 gr VLDs I need to test out.

The .350 Rigby is a terrific thumper for a medium.
I owned a Rigby Double in this cartridge and a mate had the corresponding 360 Westley Richards in a WR Double.
The 350 used standard .358 bullets and the .360 used .366 or 9,3.. caliber bullets. (I did the reloading for both)
The Rigby was the more powerful cartridge and if you choose a bolt action, (more likely option) there is a rimless version as well, for obvious reasons.

I just finished this... Ruger no. 1 in .222 Rem. It's a callaboration of myself and Chuck Grace of Trinidad, CO. I found the scope at a gun show a couple of years ago and decided it needed a rifle. Being a nostalgia buff I wanted a 60's varmint rifle that I could shoot in local benchrest matches and, maybe, pop the occasional woodchuck or crow.

The only original parts are the action itself... I added a Kepplinger set trigger. It was originally a .458. It has a #2 Douglas barrel and a 1" Unertl target scope in 8X. The wood is circassian walnut. I made pattern stocks which were duplicated by Chuck and shaped the stock myself. Chuck checkered it for me and rust blued it.

I just got it back and have shot it in one match at which I was fire forming cases. The results were O.K. and showed some promise. When I get done fire forming and can do some load work-up I am hoping it shoots well enough to be competitive in our Factory Rifle class. (This, as opposed to the all-out competition class of BR guns.)

A lot more information detailing the build in the single shot forum.
Rebarreling a shot out LVSF in 22-250 to a 1:8. Adding an inch of barrel and threads for a suppressor.

Building a 338-06 to replace the one I sold to a friend.
Model 70 classic stainless action
#3 Shilen 1:9, 23 inch, threaded for suppressor.
McMillan compact edge stock
Talley lightweights
Leupold 2.5-8

210gr T/TSX will be the go to.
Going to try and put together a 250gr subsonic for kicks and giggles.

Progress has been made, McMillan Mauser pattern stock in Olive(50%), Black(25%) & Med Grey(25%) ordered and paid for the first one.

Barreled actions are on the way to Warbirds Custom Guns for mil spec Parkerizing right now...getting closer...
I build for a living. Mostly muzzleloaders.
But I probably will get 4 bolt actions finished in 2017.

2 are Lee "Speed(ish)" rifles in 303 that have been in the works now for some time. One is made on a 1941 Lithgow and the other on an Irish 1900 carbine action. Both will be stocked for iron sights.

Then I also have 2 Mausers in the works. One 9.3X57 and one 9.3X62. The 9.3X57 will be done in the style of the full stock Sauer guns made in the 1920. The 9.3X62is going to be a classic Mauser type A style. Both will have enough drop to use the irons, but also will be suitable for scope use too.

All the rest of the work will be muzzleloaders. I have 4 Hawkens to make, 2 very fancy American longrifles and 2 Jaegers. I am doubtful that I can finish all these before Christmas, but I'll be working on these rifles 6 days a week (12 hour days) until hunting season, and then after the hunts are done I'll be back in the shop 6 days a week until December 23rd. Between Christmas and New Years I usually spend time with family.

Had one of those in the works last year in 30 BR. But, I dropped it and opted for the 308 Win in an MDT chassis.
I have a small ring BRNO 21H Mauser over at James Anderson's now waiting it's turn in line. The plans for the BRNO are a new barrel chambered in 7X57 with integral quarter rid, front sight and swivel island. A new safety, bolt handle and bottom metal are also on the work order. Now I may have to wait on the stock, I'll just have to see how my cash holds up.

Here is the barrel blank. Once the rib gets contoured and the "band" gets turned into an island it should really look nice.
