Talked to Wayne York today about his stocks - Pendelton Composites. They look dang nice - minimal drop at heel and comb, strong, very light, and well priced. The biggest bonus is that he can do an action inlet for my Kimber 8400 that will bring it in at 7 lbs. Nice guy and seems knowledgeable. Anyone use them or heard any reviews of his stocks?

Hi I yoused Wayne for a rebored 338/06 on a pre 64 model 70 and had one of his stocks installed. I am very happy with the final product had small issue called Wayne and he took care of it. I am working out a scope issue on pre 64 model 70 375 H&H and will send it down for a stock soon. Like any deal be very clear about your exceptions and you will be fine I think Wayne is a stand up guy from my dealings with him.

I have one of his stocks on a Sako 85 30/06, it's a nice stock. From my experience with only one stock, it's comparable in quality to my McMillans

5 or 6 years ago I had one of his ultra light stock blanks (15 or 16 oz with pad cast right on) and it was junk in my opinion. There were several areas where the shell had lifted from the foam core (most noticeable in the butt stock) and the "solids" around the action area were very brittle. By the time it was "fixed" it weighed considerably more and I still didn't trust it.

I personally would much rather have an extra 1-3 oz and buy a wildcat or bansner anyday of the week.

Thanks guys. I'm still chewing on this. The issue with the Kimber 8400 is its perch belly. I don't want it plus I want to lose some weight from the stock. I also talked to MPI and felt much better about them being able to 'fix' the perch belly and deliver a stock that meets my requirements. But its $900-$1000 to have them do it
