I'm thinking of having my .223 rebored to something more touching and if I do it the lever is gonna need fixing. Any recommendations?
what do you mean "fixing". is there something wrong where the locking detent fits in the action or do you mean you want the lever reshaped?
Reshaped so as not to maul my hand when shooting a cartridge with actual recoil.

Just swap it for a #1 lever would be the easiest and least expensive if you can find one. Since it is a casting I would be a little suspect if it were bent radically but it is done successfully.

Not so easy. The No.3 locks up via a ball detente into bottom of the action. The No.1 via a latch locking to the trigger guard.

Best a nice reshape of the No.3 lever.
