Always nice when the first load tested does this....;)
That is gonna be a lightweight hammer ! And that new stock is damn sweet !
Looks good - if you get a chance maybe you could post up some pictures of the new rig with specs??

Going to run some 88's through it next...….
Fine shooting there and it sounds like an already well-sorted rifle/load combo. Certainly fancy enough for shooting at precision sharpie blobs..... (grin)
Pat,
I was wondering if that was the one. They had it or one just like it posted on their website last week and I was temped to snag it - really an excellent build. What are your thoughts on that new stock?? Looks really slick for a lightweight hunting build, also how do you like that action. Been looking at those, appears to be well thought out but I'm a little on the fence on that bolt handle but I bet it works!
Thanks for the pictures and congrats on the new rifle.

I like it better than the Hunter's EDGE stocks I have, and it's also lighter than an EDGE.
Action only weighs in at 20.5 ounces. I don't mind the handle/knob at all. The handle is one piece, the knob is removable.
Someone could probably shape a new one, if you didn't like the original. So far, I don't have any issues with it.
Thanks Pat, much appreciated. Look forward to seeing that rifle show up in more pictures this year:)
Nice lite setup!
Pat how many rds does the flush mag hold?
Great looking rifle. Dig the stock. Almost looks Legend’ish

Agree! Have an adl on order and this has me hoping they hurry it up!!! Great build.
The other side.
Hot damn - I like that!
Appears it aims to please too.

More than almost.
Thanks for the report Pat. The MCS-UC is very aesthetically pleasing, its a dang good looking stock. How do you like the open grip? For me, an open grips makes it feel like I'm having to reach for the trigger, so I'm hesitate to order one. But dang its sexy.
Nice looking, nice shooting rig
Nice.
Really like that stock.
I like
Been thinking about a 22 creed.
Thanks for the post!
That’s a great looking stock...one of my less-preferred features of a Manners stock was stippling vs checkering. Seems now I have an option!
Dammit they are only for short actions!
Dammit they are only for short actions!
And no lefties.
I’ve got one coming together just like that. My stock should be here any day now.
I’m probably gonna leave the rail on though.

Heck of a nice rig! I want one. Congrats!

Nice shooting Sir! Very nice rig too.
Pat,
Who did you source your flush mount magazine from? I have the same APA bottom metal as you but APA said they don’t make the magazines.
John
Scenar, what is the speed on those 75's?
Fantastic rig!
Gotta love a rig like that. Seems most of your rifles are similarly "lucky". Good shooting, Pat.

Those are made by Curtis Customs.
GAP has them in stock, and for sale. George said they may not be listed, but they have them. Leave a voice mail for Ken Lin, he'll get back to you, and take an order.
They're made well, all metal
He said they're in the process of making a few prototypes for the 6.5 4S, and 6.5 PRS, I'll be getting some those to T&E

Just a bit shy of 3500fps. I got a coyote with that bullet this morning at 508 meters, hit through the shoulders, leaving a 1" exit. Large male never took a step.
👍🏻👍🏻
Will definitely be doing that.
Thanks,
John

Pretty much a perfect platform...
What do those S&B's weight? 20 oz ish?
My Montanas with DD's and 6x MQ's run 7# 1 oz fwiw
This thread could end up costing a guy some $$.........
Got to agree with you on the money. Got a evo with a proof inbound soon and this is looking sexy.

Would be very interested in the mag for a prs to try the wssm in.
I can like a flush 3 round on a hunting rig, a light stock, most fast twist .224’s, and a Bart 2b but I can’t get along with anything open gripped and drop heeled. Looks like another hammer though Pat! Someone in the family is gonna get a nice “grocery” rifle!

Yep, 20 oz. pushing 21 with the scope caps....
Pat,
You remind me of The Joker in Batman when he marveled asking, “Where does he get all those wonderful toys?!”
I very much like that. Seems like a fitting replacement for the Swift. I really like the look/shape/finish of that stock!
Pat,
Can you comment on the manners stock versus the mcmillan hunters edge....your likes or dis likes
Thanks

I have several Hunter's EDGE stocks, and like them. I think this Manners fits me better though. Possibly it having a cheek piece?
As far as the open pistol grip, I don't mind it at all. It keeps the tip of my finger on the trigger when the other three are wrapped around low on it.
It's a cool rifle, and shoots very well. I shot it yesterday in strong winds out to 530 meters, and it really held it's own.(75gr ELD-M's@3450fps)
I'll have more intel when I get caught up a bit....
Pat, that looks great. I have one coming, ordered on Tom’s Hide group buy earlier this year, went with APA RTG footprint and gonna put my 7mm08 in it to allow longer cartridge OAL.
I like the cheek piece also, the Manners SL fits me real well.
Thanks for the tip on the flush fit 3 round mags, GAP has the mags in stock!

I think I'll keep it...;)
58 shots down the barrel, and I expect it to speed up another 75fps, after another 100 rounds or so.
I shot it out to 740 meters to confirm come-ups, and everything looked good....may have to take with me next week on a bear hunt.
Bears be in trouble!

Pass the 88's and hold the Fluff. Hint.
No thang to arrange (5) in the belly ala Jarhead in BDL. No COAL frets either. Hint.
I've puked too many LW's. Hint.
Alpha brass certainly has no equal and the 224 Kreedmire is a rather nice chambering...or so I've heard.
Hint...……………………..

You have my number if you don't.
Would be tough to beat one on a Montucky.
