Not much chance of finding 300 Prick ammo in various rural locales now, let alone in five years when it's likely to have lost the new cartridge luster and dropped in popularity. If factory ammo was a deciding factor and searching for a fire breather, I'd be in 7 Rem or 300 Win mode, if stuck on a 30 caliber.
It’s the sixth rifle he has built me and all shoot under .5. Even the 338 edge. Not to mention the dozens he has built for pards that do the same. [/quote]
2¢ but the 300 RUM with the new Atips would be a 🍑.
250grain G1 BC .878 G7 .442. That at 2850+ would be awesome.
I could dig that myself. I’ve got a 1-10 twist 300 Ultra now that does great with 220 Scenars. Better shaped Bullets out there but I have a bunch. Now, if I rebarrel, it’ll get an 8 twist barrel and that might be a prime candidate.

I can buy enough now that I won't have to worry about that. Not worried about buying in rural area's. Can reload the brass at that point. I am not stuck on anything at this point.

As you know, it's built to handle the long skinnys without any mods, I'd go prc with 225's.... there's one in my future...
