James Kobe on this forum. Not cheap, but very good and has a very reasonable turn around time.

Jim does excellent stock work. I say that from first hand experience.

Another vote for Jim Kobe. He’s made rifle and shotgun stocks for me.

Is he the only one?

I have seen some of Dennis Olson’s work and I was impressed. Maybe he would send pictures. I saw them in person.

I have a beautiful 458Lott with metal work by Dennis Olson and Jim Kobe did an outstanding stock for it.

You might want to look at Tom Turpin's Modern Custom Guns (book): https://www.amazon.com/Modern-Custo...swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=

The book lists and gives pictures of many beautiful rifles and skilled artists.

Many I'm not intentionally going to mention below, just short sighted. And you didn't mention a budget so (if you can afford the top two you don't need anything from me!)...

David Miller

D'Arcy Echols

Kevin Weaver: weaverrifles.com/

Jim Kobe

Leroy Barry at Canyon Creek: http://www.canyoncreekgunstocks.com/Display.asp Canyon Creek does some interesting checkering also.

Robert Szweda: http://customstockmaker.com

Dennis Olson in Plains, MT. No website. He advertises in Rifle magazine (as does Szweda).

You'll also have to purchase a wood blank. That alone could ruin your budget. I have purchased wood blanks from Cecil Fredi in Las Vegas and Roger Vardy in Australia, both with good results.

Cecil's website: http://www.gunstockblanks.com

Roger's website: www.rogervardystockwood.com/

Also Dressels and others for the blank.

Case in point I forgot JRGunmaker in South Dakota. I appreciate his posts here.
