I have my Mack Bros 6.5 PRC with a Proof CF Sendero contour headed back my way after it got a replacement barrel from Proof due to a bad barrel.

Excellent people to deal with at Proof... Zero shîtt’n around, or making excuses looking to assign blame for their barrels lack of performance on something else. Explained the accuracy issues I was seeing on my target and the corrections I had taken with no improvement...Yep, sounds like you got a bad barrel. Where do you want it shipped? Done.

I liked the PRC enough that I went ahead and am having a second one built by APR, but going with a Bartlein SS 1:8. and their self branded G2 action then throwing it in a MCM Game Hunter handle.

I was there on the Antelope hunt...

Driving to Wyo and at camp before we started the hunt, Fred suggested everyone do head-shots only on doe’s. I’m not sure if everyone was in agreement, but Fred was definitely going to try and head shoot a doe.

I wasn’t with Fred when he made the shot. I was told by two guys who were there, that Fred called a head shot as he was getting set up to shoot.

Ethical shot? That’s up to everyone to decide for themselves, and many have shared their feelings on the LR Shooting thread

Yes Ken , very similar, I will be using a #3 contour barrel cut to 22". NECG ramp front sight and adjustable rear. The action is an FN with modified military bottom metal. Dual crossbolts.
No forend tip this time. English walnut cut to my pattern, think classic with cheek piece. Talley QD mounts with a Leupold 4x.
I am shooting for 8.5lbs with scope. It will have the two position sde safety like your Whitworth.

Oh and a red decelerator pad and no barrel band swivel. It will be very similar to your Whitworth just a little slimmer , lighter and shorter.

Thanks to all. Well.....I'm an idiot and lost the specs in the move and don't even know who built it. It is a pre-war 4-digit action. Pencil barrel - not sure of maker. Nice smooth matte blue. Blackburn bottom metal. I think factory trigger - not sure. Most everything else you can see in the pics. Checkered bolt release, 2-panel bolt knob, checkered buttplate, shadowline cheekpiece, skeleton grip cap, ebony forend tip, custom sculptured Talley bases, yada yada yada. Not sure what wood. I'll find my notes someday. I'm sure they're in a folder somewhere from when I bought it.

Talley QD rings - I found them some time ago with the smooth matte finish and the slotted screws. FX-III 6x42 with German #4 reticle.

I need to shoot it and I plan on doing that. It's a beaut.

Another Früd “Lucky” shot . Phone Skope was set on Fred to evaluate the muzzle break so the fact the round hit about a 20” rock at a shade over a mile (1785 yds IIRC, notice the barrel elevation from prone).
