Little hen. Waited for a flock to follow for probably 5 minutes, but she was by herself. Wouldn’t shot her except it was thanksgiving. Still be some tender turkey and stuffing.

I was deer hunting, thanksgiving is the only day during deer season you can shoot a turkey. Let’s just say way more than required. Shot her base of neck with a .376 Steyr, 225gr Hornady SP at around 2600 FPS.

One of the breasts of this one (spring turkey) is going in the oven about now. Brined for 24hrs, pounded flat and rolled up with povolone, and Munster cheese,ham, and spinach sautéed in garlic. Then wrapped in bacon. 😛😋

I know what I'm doing with the one breast I have left!

Congrats jackmountain! I picked up a fall turkey tag because there's literally turkey all over the place here, haven't seen one yet though! Lol! Without a tag, they're everywhere! Ha!
