Morning all,

Had the best guide a father could ask for this morning!
Wind was probably the worst I've ever hunted in this morning.
We heard maybe 3 birds.
My son and I managed to get setup on this one. Less than 5mins my son had him at about 20yds. Bang flop for the Stevens 555 20ga with hand rolled TSS. 9" beard with 3/4" spurs.
Back to the truck by 8:10am, not too shabby.
Thanks for letting me share,

R.D.

Nice work!

Don’t know where you’re hunting, but my son was out down near Lunenburg and like here, any turkey that didn’t travel into the wind could end up pre-plucked! Gusting to 46 here in the Eastern Panhandle.

Thanks guys!
I've only had that Stevens for a couple of weeks. Picked it up used in the box at Clark Brothers for a fraction of the cost of a new one. Don't believe it had had a box of shells through it. Carlson.575 in the top with TSS #8's and factory full with hevi-13 in the bottom. Definitely used the wrong barrel this morning but dead is dead.
We were in Augusta County in the valley. Howling winds were an understatement.

Thanks again,

R.D.
