Congrats! That first edition took me a while also.
I've had a few First Editions first printing, but this is the "second" printing of the First Edition. Much more rare. smile
Never checked that on mine. Huh, mine's a second printing also.
Just curious, other than the notoriety of being First Edition/1st or 2nd printing, do they have any more or different information vs say the Revised Third Edition of which I have?
Read the Preface of your Third Edition. It has info on all three editions.
The contents do differ. For example, in the Second Edition he has all the 99 models starting in 1920 rather than scattered up through 1926 as he does in the third edition. Not sure what led him to go that route. Well, he does have the 99H starting in 1920.. so that got better.

In general the later edition has better info though.
Well I'll be.....When I bought the book some time back, I was so intent on reading the 'meat' of the book on various models and such, I overlooked the 'Preface' all together. Read it and am advised.. Thanks Jaaack!
