Savage 1910 303 with reloading dies
Does the sight removal and drill and tap negate any collector value? Price?
Any limitations on the 303 as a hunting caliber for white tail deer under 200 yards?

More problems than just the drill and tap.. serious tang crack issues, looks like a wrist repair, chips off the forearm...

Definitely no collector interest.

As a hunter? If you're looking for one and don't mind the issues or having to maybe repair some cracks, the price isn't horrible if the bore is good and it loads and feeds correctly. The 303 Savage is ballistically about the same as a 30-30, so I'd say it's good for whitetails under 200 yards.

No comment about hunter value. Definitely plus 1 concerning moving "collector value" right out of ball park. I would suggest that absent the "urge to hunt authentically in early twentieth century mode, how about collector authenticity in field grade gun? NOt 90+% safe queen, but yet the 'authenticity. Perhaps best of both worlds plus 'collector investment'.
Just my take

To answer your first question, yes. Yes plus all the other issues mentioned above. And to those problems I might add that the broken stock might be an impediment to using the rifle from the get go. No offense intended, but from a sellers perspective I think you'd really be looking to "unload" that gun on an enthusiastic buyer. And that might be your opinion down the road with this gun too. If you want a 99 to shoot/hunt, there are plenty of them out there to be had in more sound condition than that one, and they might be found for the same price or a little more. Best of luck in your decision.
